Buyers Checklist  

1. What can you afford? Visit your bank or mortgage broker and get prequalified for a mortgage before you start your search.

2. Wish List? Make a list of what is important to you and what is non negotiable in a property

3. Location Location Location- Decide what is important in a location; being close to shopping and amenities, good sun exposure, a remote location?

4. Your Stage of Life? Do you need room to expand your family or a retiring and want to downsize.

5. Resale Value? Look at the neighbourhood and see if it is an up and coming neighbourhood. How long do you plan to stay in this property?

6. Know what you are buying. Will the home need a new roof in 2 years or what are the utility costs?

7. Hidden Costs. Once you buy your property there will be legal fees, inspection, property transfer tax, insurance, possibly HST and others to consider.
